PV Sindhu claimed a 21-13, 22-20 win over Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in her quarterfinal match to storm into the last four stages, where she will be up against Tai Tzu-Ying.

The Indian hockey women team marked their first win, beating Ireland 1-0.
