It was known only recently that she was raped and now her body has been exhumed, two months after her death.
Police came to know that the deceased teenager was allegedly gangraped during a marriage ceremony.
The incident was reported from Dhanora police station area of Kondagaon district in Chhattisgarh. About two months ago, seven men had allegedly raped the tribal girl. She had gone to a wedding ceremony with her friend on the day of the incident.
During the ceremony, 7 people forcefully took her to a nearby forest and raped her. Later when the victim came home after the marriage ceremony, she killed herself by hanging. After this, the family buried her body.
The family has now alleged that police didn’t lodge a FIR since then. Hurt by the apathy, the victim’s father tried to kill himself by consuming poison on October 4, after which the alleged rape of her daughter was revealed.
