Mark Zuckerberg, is the chairman, CEO, and co-founder of the social networking site Facebook. He is the 5th richest person in the world, having a total net worth of US $50 billion.
Zuckerberg is a Harvard drop out and was already a programming prodigy since his childhood days. In January 2004, Mark wrote an extensive code for building a site the Facebook which was the starting point for Facebook. The site was officially launched on February 4, 2004. However, several disputes occurred amongst the co-founders based on their involvement during the development phase of Facebook. After ultimately settling lawsuits worth several million dollars, Mark now has a 28.2% stake in the company.
Zuckerberg married his long time college friend Priscilla Chan in 2012 and over the years has been also involved in several acts of philanthropy including offering 99% of the Facebook shares valued at the US $45 billion to the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, which focuses on health and education for the underprivileged. Several movies have also been made depicting the life of Zuckerberg and he has been named among the 100 wealthiest and most influential people in the world by Forbes.
