There are growing reports suggesting Napoli are ready to sell their captain Lorenzo Insigne for €30m this summer.
The contract of the 30-year-old expires in June 2022 and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport, the Partenopei are ready to sell him for €30m in the summer transfer window.
It is reported that it’s unlikely Insigne will sign a contract extension with his childhood club as he wants a pay rise on his €5m-a-year wages, while the Partenopei, need to cut his salary to keep the books balanced due to the COVID pandemic.
The Italy international also wants complete control over his image rights, something Aurelio De Laurentiis is not likely to accept.
Napoli have rejected a €30m bid from Manchester United for their centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly but would accept a similar fee to sell Insigne this summer.
Insigne joined Napoli from Olimpia Sant’Arpino when he was just 15 and has come through the club’s academy, making his senior debut in an away 2-0 win over Livorno in 2010.
The 30-year-old has been linked with Barcelona and Tottenham and scored two goals in seven appearances with Italy at UEFA Euro 2020.
